Ohana Huaka'i ("family journey") is an oceanfront condominium located in the premier Hali'i Kai ("spreading out to sea") resort. Decorated with beautiful hand-crafted Hawaiian furniture and art, the spacious floor plan offers a gourmet kitchen, vaulted ceilings, and two private lanais with mountain and shoreline views.
This vacation villa tells its own story of nature versus nurture. The villa is stocked with supplies to enjoy the Big Island's natural treasures with a full complement of beach chairs, boogie boards, coolers, and toys for young or old. When you're not enjoying your outdoor paradise, cook up some kaukau in a gourmet kitchen stocked with up-to-date appliances. After your sunset walk down the beach, you can end the night in the soaking tub in the master bath.
Everything has been thought of to make sure your visit is as relaxing and carefree as possible.
We believe that everyone who comes to Hawaii has a story of their Hawaiian journey and what brought them here and touched their hearts. Come write your story and stay at OHANA HUAKAI!
We are Bob and Leona Forsberg from Lyons, Colorado. We have owned and operated a wedding venue in the foothills of Boulder County for more than 18 years. Bob's travels have taken him around the world managing his company that produces environmental monitoring equipment. Hooray for frequent flyer miles!
Travel and hospitality are very important to our family. Our four daughters all worked for Disney, and the youngest is still a manager at one of Mickey's hotels in Orlando. The three older daughters help us with the event venue in Colorado. We started bringing the girls to Hawaii when our youngest was two, but our three grandchildren are awaiting their first trips to Hawaii.
We bought our first home in Kona in 1991. Kanaloa at Kona gave us the perfect escape from our very busy lives to be a family and enjoy those special memories. Years ago we sold our Hawaiian home, but after our daughters finished college, there was a huge hole in our hearts. So the hunt began for the perfect vacation home. Now we are happy to share with you our find, the one-of-a-kind Hali'i Kai ("spreading out to sea") resort home. Aloha A hui hou—"until the next time."
